Abstract

For design purposes, there is a need for accurate and efficient theoretical predictions of wave forces acting on offshore structures and many approximated methods have been developed. Platforms usually consist of a composite configuration of cylinders and in this paper a boundary element approach has been developed to study the interactions between incident waves and multiple bodies. The method can also calculate wave forces and moments. It is more efficient than other domain methods as only unknowns along the boundaries of the bodies are solved.
