Abstract
This chapter details essential steps of performing a volar distal radius plating internal fixation to treat displaced extra-articular or intra-articular distal radius factures. Dissection is carried down until the radial fracture is exposed and fully visualized; the fracture is reduced through traction followed by provisional fixation with a K-wire. Final fixation is achieved placing a volar distal radius locking plate. Indications, essential steps, postoperative care, possible complications, operative dictation, and references are included.
