Abstract

This chapter first describes type 2 diabetes in youth including symptoms and the treatment regimen and reviews studies concerning its epidemiology. Common problems, co-morbidities, and cultural issues are then considered. The role of the behavioral health clinician is discussed next, followed by consideration of methodological issues and future research.
