Abstract

There is no adequate treatment for transsexualism or transvestism, the therapy presented being basically symptomatic. Although recent years have seen major strides in the understanding and therapy of these conditions, this uncommon, but tragic, anomaly still presents many problems which are unlikely to be resolved until there are more detailed and objective accounts of the complete life histories of affected persons. 63 references.
