Abstract

The evolving fields of pharmacogenomics and pharmacodiagnostics have lead to a paradigm shift in the treatment of human cancer. In this educational exercise, we briefly review the role of the laboratory in the era of personalized medicine in general and targeted cancer therapy in particular.
