Abstract
The clinical course and pathologic findings in this 26 yr old woman illustrate the previously documented but underemphasized association of thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura and nonbacterial thrombotic endocarditis. In this case presumed cerebral emboli with sudden onset hemiparesis represented the initial clinical manifestation in this fulminating case of TTP.
