Thermal effects in the high-speed switching of the magnetization of fine grains

Abstract

The thermal effects in the high-speed switching of the magnetization of fine grains were studied. The magnetic response of individual grains during the motion through the field profile of the recording head was determined by the integration of Langevin equation. The dependence of the effective barrier on the head-to-medium relative velocity was also studied.
