Abstract
Varicella-zoster virus causes chickenpox and herpes zoster. This article briefly reviews the epidemiology, prevalence, and pathogenesis of ocular manifestations of the virus. It also describes disease presentation and diagnosis while mainly focusing on the available spectrum of therapeutic options. Both currently recommended therapy and investigational treatments are discussed.
