Abstract
Briefly reviews the Antarctic Treaty and the silence of that organ on what is increasingly becoming a vital concern - economic development of the area. The factors that contribute to the growing urgency of arriving at an international solution to the problem of exploiting southern resources are identified. -from Current Antarctic Literature
