Abstract

A four channel substrate wavelength division (de)multiplexing (WDM) device operating at visible He-Ne laser wavelengths is reported. Careful design of substrate WDM interconnect gives high diffraction efficiency of about 72%. Application to switching and demultiplexing in fiber communications and network systems is indicated.
