Abstract
Chagas disease, Strongyloides, Cryptosporidium, and other intestinal parasites are causes of morbidity and mortality in immunocompromised hosts. There are no standardized guidelines across all organ procurement organizations for screening. Additionally, transplant program screening protocols vary significantly nationally. This chapter addresses some of the uncertainties with screening methodologies and epidemiologic risk factors for each parasite.
