Abstract
A primary malignant tumor of the endometrium with light microscopic features reminiscent of small-cell undifferentiated carcinoma of the lung developed in a 60-year-old woman. Electron microscopy revealed cytoplasmic neurosecretory-type granules and complex junctions, consistent with a 'neuroendocrine' tumor. The histogenetic possibilities are discussed.
