Abstract

The simplest biopsy technique that will provide an answer should be selected. More aggressive biopsies can be performed if simpler techniques are inadequate. Tissue biopsies are limited in most cases to sight-or life-threatening disorders such as intraocular infections or intraocular lymphoma. Various techniques for biopsy have been described, but only a small number of cases are reported in the literature. Selection of technique and site should be individualized for each patient.
