Abstract

A new assignment to chromosome 18 is the hepatitis B virus integration site 7 (HVBS7), associated with a chromosomal rearrangement in a primary hepatocellular carcinoma (Henderson et al 1988). DNA segments mapped to chromosome 18 include D18S23 (probe pEFD70.3, Fujimoto et al 1988) and D18S24 (probe pMCT108.2, Carlson et al 1988). New assignments to chromosome 19 are the B cell CLL/lymphoma 4 (BCL4) gene, isolated from the breakpoint at 19q13 of a recurring chromosomal abnormality in B cell neoplasms, t(14;19)(q32;q13) (McKeithan et al 1987), the carcinoembryonic antigen-like 1 (CEAL1) gene (Zimmermann et al 1987), and the kallikrein 1 (KLK1) gene (Evans et al 1988). A new DNA segment mapped to chromosome 19 is D19S25 (probe plambdaKP20.1) (Makoo and Dalgleish, 1987, 1988).
