Abstract

Depletion of fossil fuel and increased environmental problems caused by waste disposal have led to rapid development of resource recovery technologies. This paper presents a review of the availability of municipal, industrial, farm and forestry wastes and some of the technologies for converting them to energy. The emphasis is on biological conversion of wastes to methane.
