The influence of recording layer on the dynamics of a soft underlayer (SUL) was investigated. Micromagnetic modeling was used to study the influence of the layer on the dynamics of soft magnetic films. The time dependencies of the SUL magnetization was calculated using the Landau-Lifshitz-Gilbert dynamics. The results were supported by the time-resolved Kerr imaging study of the magnetization reversal.
