Abstract

Penile reconstruction has evolved significantly in the past 60 years. A thorough understanding of the anatomy, physiology and reconstructive options is of great importance and has been elucidated in earlier chapters. This chapter is an overview of the evolution of penile reconstruction, pertinent anatomy, criteria for patient selection and the pre-operative evaluation process. It also describes the most common reconstructive options for different penile pathologies, with special emphasis on tested microsurgical procedures, in addition to more advanced technologies.
