Abstract

The structure of luteinizing hormone releasing hormone (LH RH) was elucidated, and many of its analogs were synthesized. Two analogs, D Leu6 desGly10 ethylamide and D Ala6 desGly10 ethylamide, were found to possess greater and more prolonged LH RH/FSH RH activity than LH RH itself when administered intramuscularly to normal women (Soria et al., 1975). These results prompted us to attempt induction of ovulation and pegnancy in women with suspected hypothalamic oligomenorrhea using the two LH RH analogs.
