Abstract

An algorithm for accurate position determination and verification that uses a three-dimensional standard pattern is presented. The pattern is also supplemented with a set of bar codes, thus enabling the system to locate the absolute position of the pattern. The method also has the advantage of being simple and independent of all intrinsic camera parameters except focal length. Experimental results showed that the algorithm achieves a great degree of accuracy. Intended enhancements that will make the system more flexible and faster are also outlined.
