Abstract
The selection of an engineering and scientific software (ESS) system is a complicated process. The overall user satisfaction derived from a system depends on many variables. This study analyzes the influence of ESS predictor variables on overall satisfaction as determined by multiple regression. This study confirms the theories that suggest that ESS ease of operation, computer reliability and technical support are the major determinants of overal computer user satisfaction. The factors identified were used for the design of an ESS Decision Support System.
