Abstract
90 patients with alopecia aerata have been studied to evaluate the prevalence of nail changes, 30 patients presented severe nail changes, 30 patients presented moderate nail changes and 30 patients were unaffected by nail diseases. The nail changes we observed more frequently were twenty nail dystrophy and pitting. A relationship between severe onychodystrophy and severe alopecia areata was evidentiated.
