Abstract

In-III octreotide scintigraphy showed uptake at the level of the ileum in a 55-year-old woman who had the tissue marked before operation by a radionuclide. She underwent surgery in which a gamma probe radiation detector was used, which allowed rapid identification of a primary carcinoid tumor of the ileum.
