Models to understand human genomics, final considerations

Research output: Chapter in Book/Report/Conference proceedingChapter

Abstract

In this book we discussed the importance of model organisms for understanding human genetics and undertaking biomedical research. We highlighted the tools, resources, and utilities of several of the most conventional model organisms. Within this chapter we will mention some of the nonconventional models, discuss ethical considerations and best practices, and look at future directions that may help in the elucidation of the mechanisms and complexities of human genetics.
