Abstract

Metal nanoparticles modified with surface-attached molecular receptors were prepared. Molecular recognition between the particle-immobilized receptors and appropriate substrates in solution opens new and interesting possibilities for the assembly of nanoparticles in two- and three-dimensional patterns.
