Abstract
This article reviews the main parasomnias and discusses their etiology and treatment. Parasomnias are thought to be disorders of arousals. They are common in children. They can be divided into nonrapid eye movement (NREM) sleep, rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, miscellaneous, and secondary parasomnias.
