Investigation of micromotion in cementless hip arthroplasty using boolean neural network

Abstract

The micromotion of the porous-coated femoral prosthesis is one of the important factors that affect the ingrowth of bone tissue on the prosthesis surface in the total hip replacement (THR) treatment. In order to facilitate the analysis of such micromotion, we developed an algorithm using a Boolean Neural Network (BNN) applied to a video image tracking system, yielding inspiring results.
