Abstract
Three normally cycling female baboons in the luteal phase were selected to determine the suppressing effect of Inhibitor-I: D-phe2, phe3, D-phe6-LHRH, on LH release in response to synthetic LHRH. The results support the interpretation that Inhibitor-I suppresses the function of LHRH, however, there is not yet enough evidence to state that Inhibitor-I suppresses endogenous LHRH secretion rather than suppressing the activity of endogenous LHRH at the level of the anterior pituitary.
