Abstract

In situ electrical resistivity was measured in DSDP Hole 504B to a depth of 1013m into oceanic basement. Apparent resistivities are approx 10OMEGA m in approx 600m of pillow lavas, sharply increasing to nearly 1000OMEGA m in the underlying dykes. Bulk porosities calculated from resistivities show a distinct layering, apparently corresponding to geophysical layers 2A, 2B and 2C.-Authors
