Abstract
Three simultaneous cases of viral infection acquired from the attending personnel occurred in a newborn intensive care nursery. Influenza A/Hong Kong/1/68 (H3N2) virus was isolated from two of them. The three infants were at high risk due to underlying disease. Although initial symptoms were dramatic, the course was benign with recovery in all cases. To our knowledge, these represent the first reported cases of Hong Kong influenza in a newborn population.
