To the Editor: Ubell's Special Report (Dec. 8 issue)1 gives an accurate and optimistic picture of Cuba's achievements in health care during the past 25 years. As a Cuban-American physician trained in the United States, I have visited Cuba several times and have had the opportunity to tour health facilities. In July 1983 I participated in the “Health for All” conference as a delegate from the United States. On the basis of these experiences, I would like to make additional comments about Cuban medicine.
