Abstract

Changes in the age structure of the nation, the locus of care, the nature of disease, and the cost of care are among the factors that have led to recent proposed revisions in health care policy. This article addresses a number of these variables and examines the need for increased future involvement of a rehabilitation philosophy as a response to the current crisis.
