First-order super radiant Phase transitions in a multiqubit cavity system

Abstract

The first-order superradiant phase transitions existed in a general class of multiqubit cavity systems were discussed. Regions were observed, where the superradiant phase transition became first order, due to the frustration induced by the transverse nearest-neighbor coupling. The superradiant state was found to be metastable as η increased. It was observed that the spin-spin interaction transformed the nature of the superradiant phase transition in the Dicke model.
