Electron-transfer-mediated isomerization reactions in zeolites

Abstract

An investigation of zeolites focused on the role of faujasites as a medium for photochemical electron transfer reactions involving an acceptor and stilbenes, and 1,2-diphenylcyclopropanes undergoing cis-trans isomerization under electron transfer conditions as donors. The results provide insights into the influence of the nature of the acceptor, the exchanged cation in the zeolite supercage and substitution of the donor. Zeolites have been used for different applications that rely on their high polarity, shape selectivity and high thermal stability.
