Abstract

(Figure Presented) A host of possibilities: Cucurbit[8]uril acts as a host to mediate in a highly effective way the formation of charge-transfer complexes between dendrimers containing accessible π-donor and π-acceptor units (see scheme). Redox switching of the self-assembly affords control over the size of the predominant dendrimer assemblies.
