Intracystic pantopaque can alter the natural history of renal cysts. More than two thirds of all renal cysts treated with percutaneous intracystic instillation of pantopaque decreased to at least half the original volume when followed for up to 4 years. A similar control group without intracystic pantopaque instillation did not show this dramatic change.
