Abstract
The potentiometric response of the copper(II) ion-selective electrode (Ag2S/CuS membrane) was investigated In aqueous solutions containing background electrolyte. For background electrolyte containing chloride, the electrode response, although linear with the logarithm of copper(II) activity, was not Nernstlan. For background electrolyte which contained no chloride, the electrode response was Nernstlan Irrespective of background Ionic strength.
