Abstract

Outlet strut fracture of the Björk-Shiley 60 ° convexocancave mitral valve prosthesis is a catastrophic event.1-4 Immediate operation is needed if the patient is to survive.1,2 In this report we detail the use of bedside 2-dimensional echocardiography (2-D echo) for diagnosis so that definitive therapy can be planned.
