Alopecia areata incognita is currently in process of classification, it can be addressed among the non-scarring and diffuse alopecias. It is more prevalent in young women with sudden hair fall and positive pull test. The trichoscopy, hystological findings and treatment are similar to those of conventional alopecia areata; also the prognosis is favorable in most cases.
