Abstract

A detached-eddy simulation of a coflow jet airfoil at high angles of attack is conducted in this paper. A lowdiffusion E-CUSP scheme with an implicit fifth-order weighted essentially nonoscillatory scheme is employed. Detached-eddy simulation appears to handle the turbulence mixing and flow separation at high angles of attack significantly better than Reynolds-averaged Navier-Stokes equations.
