Abstract

This discussion outlines the emergence of periarteritis nodosa in the 19st century to the concept of the Churg-Strauss syndrome in the 20th century and now the 21st century concept of eosinophilic granulomatosis with polyangiitis (EGPA). Also considered are concepts of diagnosis, evaluation, differential diagnosis and management for this complex disorder.
