Abstract

In an effort to improve local control as well as to inhibit the growth of metastatic tumor the combination of cisplatin and radiation was used in 8 patients with advanced bladder cancer. The tumor was locally recurrent or metastatic in 5 patients and this combination was used as primary therapy in 3. Therapy was well tolerated. In support of prior animal studies there was a suggestion of additional therapeutic effect by adding cisplatin to radiation.
