Abstract

The extent of the application of electronic data processing in the US trucking industry is investigated by survey sampling. The results of a mail survey are summarized. A homogeneous group of respondents is selected and the operating and financial characteristics of EDP users and non-users in this group are contrasted. The performance of EDP users is shown to be superior to non-users across a broad spectrum of operating and financial characteristics.-Authors
