Abstract

The Kazakh was compared with the Han nationality for the diameter and thickness of senile cataractous lenses from 48 cases in Tacheng. The mean age was 66.21 years for the Han and 60.76 for the Kazakh. The diameter of the lenses of the Kazakh was 12.68 mm, higher than that of the Han. The thickness of the lenses was 3.77 mm for Kazakh and 4.40 mm for the Han. The differences were of statistical significance. It needs to be further investigated if race and living circumstance and so on are contributed to the difference.
