Abstract
This report describes two young infants with hepatic disease who developed hemodynamic and oxygen utilization derangements associated with toxic concentrations of chloramphenicol in serum. Monitoring with thermodilution pulmonary artery catheters allowed a unique description of the cardiovascular and oxygen utilization effects of severe chloramphenicol toxicity.
