Abstract

The fixation blocks used in Ilizarov fixators are illustrated: single ring, ring and 5/8 ring, periarticular double ring block, shaft double ring block, transport ring, and foot frame. Working length mechanisms are illustrated: distraction, compression, rotation, angular correction, translation, and neutralization. Working length rod selection used in fracture treatment is illustrated. Universal hinge mechanisms are discussed.
