Abstract

Ferrocement makes use of layers of reinforcement that are most often in the form of welded or woven wire mesh and expanded metal. The purpose of this paper is to discuss specimen size, instrumentation, and testing procedures for ferrocement reinforcement subjected to direct tension. Data are collected on wire mesh and expanded metal of types used in ferrocement production. Attention is focused on the parameters relevant to ferrocement structural design and reinforcement quality control.
