Abstract
An increased frequency of HLA-B8 was found in patients with Wegener's granulomatosis. HLA-B8 positive Wegener's granulomatosis patients did not have clinical characteristics which made them distinct from HLA-B8 negative patients. Since HLA-B8 has been found with increased frequency in certain "autoimmune" diseases, this finding may be important in understanding the pathogenesis of Wegener's granulomatosis.
