Analysis of a shielded writer for perpendicular recording

Abstract

In this paper, we analyzed the properties of shielded writers, including both theoretical and experiment analysis. It is shown for example, that thinner pole tips can be used, thus reducing non-zero skew-angle sensitivity as compared to the regular SPH structure.
