Abstract

This paper centers on the development of a knowledge-base expert system for residential energy conservation in a sub-tropical climate. It is a residential energy savings advisor, and is designed to provide readily available knowledge supporting residential energy audit efforts. The knowledge-based information and database used in this study are extracted from studies sponsored by DOE and published papers resulting from such research, studies conducted at Florida Solar Energy Center, evaluations conducted by the Florida Power and Light Company, and pertinent information obtained from other sources, (see references).
