Abstract

The purpose of this paper is to develop and test an expert system for assessment of human physiological abilities in manual lifting tasks. The expert system was implemented on an IBM PC-XT personal computer. An example on how to utilize the expert system in designing manual lifting tasks from a physiological standpoint is given.
